How to install the sprocket

Part of the mechanics is precision, part of the caveman.Know when to use it? Drive sprocket and when to use it?Driving the breaker lever is the difference between early cutting and late cutting of new threads.Changing the motorcycle chain is largely a caveman’s effort, but you need some brain to accompany your muscles. In addition, you also need the following tools: jack bracket, ratchet, impact wrench, hammer, rear sprocket bolt sleeve, intermediate shaft sprocket sleeve, penetrating oil, wheel bearing grease, torque wrench, if there is no main link, chain Abrasive tools and punches.

First, place the bicycle on the jack stand, so that the rear wheel is off the ground.Remove the sprocket cover and pay attention to the bolt length, as some bolts are usually longer than others.Take this opportunity to remove the dirt accumulated around the intermediate shaft chain.

Next, we need to remove the countershaft sprocket bolts. The bolts for removing the intermediate shaft sprocket are different, some bicycles use two bolts and a plate, while other bicycles use fixing rings to fix chainMost use bolts over 100 foot-pounds to tighten, and use curved washers to prevent the bolts from backing out.Loosen the washer, spray penetrating oil on the bolt, and let the oil stand for five minutes.Have someone stand on the rear brake to prevent the rear wheel from turning and install the impact wrench on the bolt of the intermediate shaft sprocket.Hit the impact wrench with a hammer until the bolt turns freely.Once the bolts are loose, we will move to removing the chain. The chain is secured by the main link using clamps or rivets. The clamp is easy, only a screwdriver is needed to remove the clamp, you can pull the chain link and separate the chain. If the chain has riveted links, you must grind off the head of the rivet and knock out the rivet with a punch. This may take more than half an hour, so please be patient and work slowly. After the chain broke, we moved to the rear wheel and removed the bent cotter pin and the bolt that fixed the rear axle.

Finally, pull out the axle, remove the rear wheel and the old chain. Then it's OK!
